Fees & Appointment Policies

A LETSON NOTARY COMPANY provides mobile notary, printing, and document support services by appointment request. These policies are intended to clarify how appointments are reviewed, quoted, confirmed, and completed.

California notary fees are regulated by law. Mobile service, travel, printing, waiting time, parking, rush, weekend, after-hours, emergency, and other convenience or support fees may apply separately from statutory notary fees. California’s 2026 Notary Public Handbook states that notaries may charge up to $15 for many notarial acts, including acknowledgments and jurats.

Appointment Requests

Submitting an appointment request does not create a confirmed booking.

Appointment requests are reviewed based on availability, location, timing, document needs, signer requirements, printing needs, travel, and other appointment details.

Appointments are not confirmed until availability, pricing, appointment details, and any required deposit are confirmed by A LETSON NOTARY COMPANY.

Deposits

A deposit may be required for mobile, same-day, weekend, after-hours, printing, extended-distance, rush, or emergency/time-sensitive appointments.

Deposits may be applied toward the final appointment total.

Deposits may be non-refundable if an appointment is canceled late, the notary is already in transit, the signer is unavailable, required identification is missing, required witnesses are absent, or the appointment cannot proceed due to circumstances outside the notary’s control.

Notary Fees

California notary fees are set by law and may be charged per notarized signature or notarial act, depending on the type of notarization.

Current California notary law allows a notary public to charge up to $15 for many common notarial acts.

Statutory notary fees are separate from mobile service, travel, printing, waiting time, parking, rush, weekend, after-hours, emergency, and other convenience or support fees.

Mobile Service, Travel & Convenience Fees

Mobile service and travel fees may apply for on-site appointments.

Additional fees may apply for:

  • Travel

  • Extended-distance service

  • Parking

  • Tolls

  • Building access delays

  • Same-day requests

  • Weekend appointments

  • After-hours appointments

  • Emergency or time-sensitive requests

  • Waiting time

  • Printing

  • Scan-back coordination

  • Document support services

Final pricing is confirmed before the appointment whenever possible.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

Cancellations or rescheduling requests should be made as early as possible.

Cancellation fees may apply for late cancellations, same-day cancellations, or appointments already in transit.

If a deposit was paid, the deposit may be applied to a rescheduled appointment at the discretion of A LETSON NOTARY COMPANY.

No-Show or Unable-to-Complete Appointments

A no-show or unable-to-complete fee may apply if the notary arrives and the appointment cannot proceed.

This may include, but is not limited to:

  • The signer is unavailable

  • The signer lacks acceptable identification

  • The signer is unwilling to sign

  • The signer appears unaware, confused, coerced, or unable to participate willingly

  • Required witnesses are absent

  • The document is incomplete

  • The document is not ready

  • The appointment location is inaccessible

  • Legal requirements for notarization are not met

A notarization may be refused if legal requirements are not met.

Waiting Time

Appointments are scheduled for a confirmed time or appointment window.

A waiting fee may apply after a 15-minute grace period.

Waiting time may also apply if the appointment is delayed due to signer availability, document readiness, parking, access issues, missing witnesses, or other circumstances outside the notary’s control.

Identification Requirements

All signers must be present and able to provide acceptable identification.

Identification must meet applicable California notary requirements. A notarization may be refused if the signer cannot provide acceptable identification or if legal requirements are not met.

All signers must be willing, aware, and able to understand and participate in the notarization.

Witnesses

A LETSON NOTARY COMPANY does not provide witnesses.

If your document requires witnesses, you are responsible for providing them.

Witnesses must meet any requirements set by law, the document, the receiving agency, lender, escrow officer, attorney, or other requesting party.

Witnesses must be present at the appointment and should have valid identification if required.

Documents & Notarial Acts

Please confirm your document requirements before the appointment.

A LETSON NOTARY COMPANY cannot determine which notarial act your document requires. If you are unsure whether your document requires an acknowledgment, jurat, oath, affirmation, witness, or other requirement, please contact the requesting agency, attorney, lender, escrow officer, document preparer, or receiving party before the appointment.

A LETSON NOTARY COMPANY may refuse a notarization if the document is incomplete, the required notarial wording is missing or unclear, the signer is not properly identified, the signer is not willing or aware, or the notarization cannot legally be completed.
